Not “close enough.” Not “surprisingly good.” But authentically leather—grain, flex, warmth, memory, patina potential—without the hide. That’s the threshold few sustainable alternatives clear. As menswear pivots toward accountability, designers and consumers alike are rejecting greenwashed veneers: glossy bio-PUs that peel after six months, mycelium panels with inconsistent tensile strength, or apple leather wallets that stiffen like cardboard in dry climates. Authenticity isn’t just sensory—it’s structural integrity over time, ethical traceability from feedstock to finish, and responsible end-of-life resolution.   • Revival: If surface dulls, gently buff with chamois cloth dampened with rosewater (no alcohol).

Desserto

  • Cleaning: Slightly damp (not wet) cloth. For ink: isopropyl alcohol (70%) on cotton swab—test first.
  • Conditioning: Once quarterly: food-grade mineral oil, 1 drop per 10cm². Massage in, wipe excess.
  • Storage: Never in sealed plastic. Use ventilated canvas pouches. Avoid cedar—it reacts with apple pectin binder.
  • Humidity Management: Keep in climate-controlled space (45–55% RH). Desiccant packs recommended in arid zones.

Seaqual™-PU

  • Cleaning: Mild soap (pH 7) + water. Rinse thoroughly. Air-dry—no heat.
